Our Programs
Canadian Therapy Dogs Support Services (CTDSS) is dedicated to bringing comfort, joy, and companionship to individuals and communities in the Ottawa area through professionally trained therapy dogs. Our services cater to a variety of needs through our programs, including emotional support, stress relief, and therapeutic visits to schools, hospitals, care homes, and community events. We aim to create meaningful connections that promote mental well-being and foster positive experiences.
Whether you're seeking support for an individual or an entire organization, our therapy dog services are tailored to provide care and comfort to those who need it most.
We offer our visits at no cost but, as a not-for-profit organization, we welcome donations. All teams are covered by our comprehensive insurance.

Holding Paws
CTDSS offers visits at no charge to secondary and post-secondary schools, senior residences as well as companies in the National Capitol Region who would like to offer a welcome break to those that spend their days there.
The Reading Room
A program available by CTDSS to the public libraries who would like to have an “open house” to encourage the residents of the city to stop by and see what the Ottawa libraries have to offer. Program offered at no charge.
Paws for First Responders
To support First Responders and subsequent carers, our certified CTDSS teams are here for you. Our team includes professionals who are experts in their respective fields, providing assistance with tragedy and loss, school crisis support, and shelter visits. As therapy teams, these visits are at no charge.
Courthouse Dogs
CTDSS professional teams are available upon special request from the AGO. These teams are specialists in the field of victim services. CTDSS is proud that the Ottawa Courthouse is a supporter of this program and is available to those in need at no charge.
